Then Omø might just be the place for you and your family. There is time here for peace and contemplation, tranquillity and dreams.

A little about Omø

The inhabitants of Omø are extremely hospitable, and farming and fishing remain the main industries on the island to this day. The island has approx. 185 inhabitants, the majority of which live in the town of Omø or the fishing village of Kirkehavn. The island can be viewed from Skovbanken, the highest point on Omø at 24 metres above sea level.

There are no flights to Omø, but, during the summer months, there are eight ferry connections daily between Omø and Stigsnæs, with direct bus connections to and from Skælskør. Whilst lying on the beach on Omø, with the sand between your toes and listening to the waves lapping against the shore, you have time to think about things – and the time is all yours!

Omø is a small island of around 4.5 km² with 11.6 km of coastline. The Great Belt Bridge lies to the west of Omø. Omø Sound lies to the north of the island and Omø is bordered by the Smålandshavet Sea on the other sides. Omø’s own tourist guide provides suggestions for delightful walks, and can be ordered online or at the Tourist Offices.

If you wish to do a bit of exploration of your own, Omø’s own website is worth a visit!
Here you will find all the information you need about accommodation options, the nature and much more besides.

During the summer months, there are numerous activities on Omø. Keep an eye on the island’s notice boards or check the calendar on Omø’s website
